The Emotional Plague Explores The Root Of Destructive Behavior

Press Release Body: Princeton, NJ/April 21, 2008 - The critically acclaimed, The
Emotional Plague: The Root of Human Evil (ACO Press, ISBN 978-0-96799670-3-5, 2008)
by Dr. Charles Konia has been selected as a finalist for the ForeWord Magazine Book
of the Year Award in the category of psychology. The Emotional Plague explores a
disease of destructive human behavior involving people's emotional lives that can be
spread from person to person with all the characteristics of infectious diseases
known to medicine. The ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Award, considered one of
the most prestigious literary award, was established to bring increased attention
from librarians and booksellers to the literary achievements of independent
publishers and their authors. The winner will be announced on May 29, 2008 at
BookExpo America in Los Angeles.

"I am very honored that The Emotional Plague was selected as a finalist for the
ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Award," said Dr. Charles Konia. "When I began
writing this book, I never envisioned that it would receive the mainstream
acceptance that it has. The message in this book is essential for everyone who
questions what is wrong in society and why our standards of decency and excellence
continue to decline."

In The Emotional Plague, Dr. Konia makes the first comprehensive exploration and
development of the concepts first published in Wilhelm Reich\'s 1933 The Mass
Psychology of Fascism. Dr. Konia\'s groundbreaking, highly original book examines
from a unique, non-psychological perspective this pathology in human nature that has
given us the likes of Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin, Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein, and Osama
bin Laden. From Hitler to Osama bin Laden to school shooters to politicians, the
emotional plague is a pervasive illness. Konia's book shows people how it existed
throughout history, how to recognize it, treat it, prevent it, and understand it.
Recognition is an essential first step in eradicating its destructiveness.
"We are very pleased and honored to see Dr. Konia and The Emotional Plague honored
as a finalist for the ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Award," said Dr. Peter A.
Crist, Publisher and President, American College of Orgonomy. "It is highly pleasing
to see Dr. Konia's work and the work of Wilhelm Reich that is addresses in this book
receive such acceptance.
